After applying for the early action deadline of March 1st, 2009, I was supposed to receive a decision from Columbia GS by May 1st.
Since it was May 4th today and I haven’t heard a thing, I was anxious to find out what the deal was, so I called the admissions office. I was told that currently I am waitlisted, and that I wouldn’t find out until at the latest, JULY 6TH.
Well.
That doesn’t work for me because I have to submit an SIR @ UCSB on June 1st, so here’s what I’m going to do:
Wait until May 15th to see if I am accepted at Yale, Stanford, or Duke, then if no Columbia GS decision comes in … fuck it, I’m off to beautiful southern california!
My chances are around 3% for Yale & Stanford, maybe a little higher for Duke, but I’m not holding my breath. The UCSB veteran’s department contacted me recently just to let me know about some new updates with the Ch. 33 GI Bill and California schools, she just wanted to personally let me know, how cool is that.
So, whatever happens, be it Santa Barbara, NYC, etc., I’ll be extremely excited, and itching to pack up the U-Haul to get the fuck out of Denver once and for all.
