Where wilist one transfer to, that is thy question ...

Since applying in November of 2008, I am still waiting to find out where I’m off to finish my undergraduate degree.

I should know any day now from Columbia, and the rest by the 15th of this month. And you know the greatest thing about being a veteran? The new GI Bill picks up the entire tab and then some!

Here’s the status of my applications so far:

  • UC Berkeley [REJECTED]
  • UCLA [REJECTED]
  • UC Santa Barbara [ACCEPTED]
  • UC Santa Cruz [ACCEPTED]
  • Duke [PENDING]
  • Columbia School of General Studies [PENDING]
  • Yale [PENDING]
  • Stanford [PENDING]
  • Duke [PENDING]

This guy seems to be doing the same thing, though with HBS in mind… http://harvardorbust.com

I see you hit all the top schools. I really should have applied to a broader range of programs but at the time I was so bent on Columbia that nothing else seemed to matter. Now that I see how much it is really going to cost I am kind of kicking myself for not being smarter during the application period.

Did you apply to the Yale Eli Whitney program (non-trad)? Are you considering appealing to Berkeley or UCLA?

I wasn’t even aware of the Eli Whitney program @ Yale, I applied directly to Yale College. (I wish I would have known about that now.)

I’m impressed that I was able to SUBMIT all of those applications, as I’m sure you already know, there are so many forms, essays, etc, and you try your best to balance and prioritize your life along with keeping track of all of that fucking paperwork and explaining your situation over and over again in entrance essays … what a pain man.

Congrats on the GS acceptance, you were lucky to get such an early decision, I am still waiting for mine and its past the early action deadline, what a nerve grinder.

UCSB has been so overly receptive and fantastic so far, if Columbia denies me then I’ll head to UCSB with no regrets. Have you made your decision yet?
